Patchwork & Pints
Spend the day with
Quilters of all levels making a Curvy Log Cabin quilt. We will be giving many options on the
different layouts of the Curvy Log Cabin Quilt that will give your own personal
creative expression and meaning behind your quilt. We will discuss the history of the Log Cabin Quilt
and its original purposes so you can incorporate your own special message into
your quilt’s design. There are rich
meanings, purposes, motivations, and giftings that each quilt provides as it
tells its own story. Because of the
symbolism within the design of the Log Cabin quilt, the quilt you make with us will
provide a symbol of your legacy that you can pass on to future generations of
family and friends. We will add the
curvy dimension to this quilting project which gives an extra element of flowing
design. Come and make your own Curvy Log Cabin quilt with us.
This is a great project
to sharpen your piecing skills. We will be including an amazing tool to
achieve a perfectly squared quilt top as you built out your curvy Log Cabin
design. This tool will help make the
construction of your quilt easy to accomplish and pull your quilt together into
your own masterpiece. We will focus on adding a border correctly to keep your
quilt-shape plumb and instruct and work on binding techniques to finish off
every quilt you complete.
What better way to complete a quilt for yourself or a loved one than by adding
coordinating pillowcases to your quilting project! We have a quick way to
use up your leftover fabric from your quilt project that will impress
everyone. Your attention to detail will shine with your sewing skills
that you will sharpen at our one-day-workshop. We are excited to spend
the day with you at McMenamins Kennedy School
